IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL ITALIAN CITIZENS
It is necessary to schedule an appointment online to submit a passport application.
Passport application must be submitted to the Consular office having jurisdiction over the geographical area where the applicant resides.
If the applicant acquired US citizenship a copy of the Naturalization Certificate must be presented along with the rest of the required documents.
To determine the appropriate consular jurisdiction where you reside (particularly for Counties in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia) please consult this web page for the Consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia or this page for all the Italian Consulates in the United States.
PLEASE NOTE
Italian citizens residing in these areas of the United States (Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina) may therefore plan, sufficiently in advance, for the renewal of the Italian passport by scheduling an appointment to appear in person in the offices of the Honorary Consulates for the required fingerprinting. The complete applications submitted through the Honorary Consulates will then be forwarded to the Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia for processing. The passport books will be printed in Philadelphia and will be returned directly to the applicant using the applicant’s self-addressed and pre-paid envelope, included with the application.
