IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ITALIAN PASSPORTS AND CITIZENSHIP APPLICATIONS

PASSPORTS:

The passing of the Italian Law  DL 24/04/2014, # 66 has introduced important changes which will enter into effect on July 8, 2014:

 1.     For those who hold a valid Italian passport, the annual fee of  40.29 Euro is no longer applicable.  Therefore,  starting on July 8, 2014, anyone traveling from the USA to Italy WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY THE ANNUAL TAX.  However, if you are traveling before July 8, 2014 you will still be required to pay the annual tax.

2.     After July 8, 2014, the issuance of a new passport, will cost 73.30 Euro (which replaces the annual tax above referenced)  together with the cost of the booklet (that remains at 42.50 Euro).   The new fee will be due only when the passport is issued and no longer on a yearly basis.
