2013 ELECTIONS FOR THE ITALIAN PARLIAMENT
RIGHT TO VOTE ABROAD BY CORRESPONDENCE
The Italian Consulate General in Italy informs the public that pursuant to the Presidential decree n. 226 of December 22, 2012, Italian elections will be held on February 24 and February 25, 2013 to elect representatives to the Chamber of Deputies and to the Senate of the Republic.
Italian citizens residing abroad and who are registered voters in the Overseas District may vote by correspondence.
All voters residing abroad that did not opt to vote in Italy before January 3 will receive a voting packet by mail before February 6 from this Consulate General containing the ballots. After having followed the instructions for voting as outlined on the instructions sheet, the stamped envelope containing the ballots, must be returned by mail as soon as possible in order to reach the Consular Office by – and no later than – 4:00 pm (local time) on February 21.
The vote is personal and secret. Voting more than once or voting on another person’s behalf is prohibited. Violators will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
