Changes in AIRE data must be communicated by the Italian citizen to the Consular Office, which in turn informs the Italian township where the Italian citizen is registered. Changes in address can be made on the Fas-It portal.
Italian Citizens, residing abroad, must inform their Italian Township of any variation in their personal data (vital records, citizenship, address, family members, residency) via the Consular Office.
Italian Townships will automatically receive such information when these changes happen within the Italian territory, but can only be informed by the citizens own initiative, through Consular offices (using FastIT), when changes aforementioned happen abroad.
Italian Citizens living abroad must therefore inform the Italian Consulate, in the jurisdiction where they reside, of changes concerning:
- Home address abroad (modulo cambio indirizzo/trasferimento/rimpatrio)
- Vital records
- Family composition
Prompt communication of such changes, other than being the citizens’ duty, allows Italian offices to keep updated information regarding citizens abroad, in order to provide all necessary consular services when needed, and to ensure easier communication between citizens and consular offices.
