All applications must be submitted in person or by mail to the Citizenship Office of the Consulate General\u00a0(the specific procedures for the different types of citizenship are provided here below).<\/p>\n<p><strong>You may book appointments for the Citizenship Department of our Consulate General only by using\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/prenotami.esteri.it\/\">PRENOT@MI<\/a><strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>This booking system\u00a0shows different categories availability as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesdays and Thursdays<\/strong> \u2013 Citizenship by descent (Jure Sanguinis) for adults (18 and above)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesdays<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Citizenship by marriage, renunciation<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>For REACQUISITION a date will be communicated individually after the request has been submitted and approved by email. <a href=\"https:\/\/consfiladelfia.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/cittadinanza\/riacquisto-di-cittadinanza\/\">Please visit the specific Reacquisition section<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Please refer to the Vital Records section for <a href=\"https:\/\/consfiladelfia.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/trascrizione-atti-di-nascita\/\">citizenship for MINORS<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cPrenot@mi\u201d opens the calendar for one month at a time. Considering the massive number of applicants, the system is often fully booked and it does not show any availability. Perseverance is the only key to obtaining an appointment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note that \u201cPrenot@mi\u201d is free of charge.
